fuss-pot
   Used to a person who fusses overmuch about trifling matters. With ‘fuss-pot’ one may compare ‘bigpot’, ‘swankpot’, ‘stink-pot’. etc., terms mainly used by children. ‘You old fuss-pot’ is spoken by one woman to another in Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier. ‘Fuss-arse’ and ‘fuss-box’ have also been used to describe this kind of person. ‘Fuss-budget’ is recorded in American dictionaries. In J.P.Donleavy’s It was my Chimes an American woman addresses a man by the unusual term ‘fussy-face’.
